BBU Open 2015Babes-Bolyai University, together with ARDOR Transilvania, is organizing between 10-12 of July the second edition of BBU Open, the first and biggest Romanian international debate tournament for students. After the 2014’s success, this years’ edition will successfully place Cluj-Napoca once again on the international debating arena, bringing together 40 teams of students coming from all over Europe (UK, the Netherlands, Sweden, Serbia or Israel), from Australia, as well as from the biggest universities from our country (several universities from Bucuresti, Timisoara, Iasi and Cluj).

The tournament will take place in the British Parliamentary debating format, which is the standard format used not only for the European and World Debating Championship, but also by universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, Yale or LSE. Students will debate on a variety of topics of interest at the moment, from politics to social matters, from science to international relations. Moreover, several special guests, such as former World and European Champions, will participate as adjudicators.

Rounds will take place at FSEGA, starting from Friday, at 3 PM, until Saturday at 5 PM. The final debate will take place at Aula Magna, on Saturday, ay 7 PM. All debates are open for public. More details can be found on
15th Gheorghe Dima International Music CompetitionWith an impressive history confirmed by last editions, the Gheorghe Dima International Music Competition continues to be one of the most important music competitions in Romania. Started in 1984 by the "Gheorghe Dima" Music Academy in Cluj, the competition ran continuously for twelve editions before being successfully revived thirteen years later.
The 2011 edition, dedicated to flute and clarinet, marked a leap in the competition's international dimension, with some of the most important performers in the world as jury members and approximately 130 contestants from 18 countries all over the globe.
In the same vein, the 15th edition of the competition (July 2015) awaits musicians from all over the world in its sections - Flute and Clarinet - to stand before a jury made of world renowned personalities, probably the youngest international jury ever.
The competition will take place at the "Gheorghe Dima" Music Academy situated in the heart of Transylvania, Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
